Five top international researchers selected to the second stage of the FiDiPro call
Tekes has selected five projects for the second stage of this spring's FiDiPro call. FiDiPro, Finland Distinguished Professor Programme, finances the recruitment of internationally recognised experts to Finnish universities and research institutes.
In the February call Tekes received 16 applications from nine universities or research institutes. The five projects selected for the second stage are from the Tampere University of Technology, Åbo Akademi and the Helsinki University of Technology. The final decisions will be made by the end of August.
"Tekes wants to finance projects that benefit central sectors of business life, and this possibility should also be clearly indicated in the application. Furthermore, it is beneficial for the project if it falls within the focus areas Tekes has defined," says Erja Ämmälahti, Senior Technology Advisor.
At the moment, a total of 30 FiDiPro professors work in universities and research institutes in Finland. The programme is a joint funding form of the Academy of Finland and Tekes, designed to invite outstanding researchers around the world to team up with the Finnish research groups and companies.
